Vioxx is a COX-2 selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) made by Merck & Co., Inc. Vioxx is also related to the nonselective NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen and naproxen. Vioxx is suspected of causing over 27,000 heart attacks to users of the drug. These results were based on a review of medical records of over 1.4 million people.
